After three days of cold gray weather the sun came out. Sky was bright and clouds danced through the sky making all sorts of shapes as a fresh wind blew south.
At dawn there were no clouds except for some fine lines in the horizon all painted in every tone of orange and pink from that point sky went from deep orange, to yellow to light blue, to blue, to deep blue. Swallows flew high above tree tops which seemed like shadow puppets marking their presence againts the multicolored sky, then they gave great dives and flew back up in swirls as they hunted for mosquitoes.
Right on top of the scene just where blue was turning into black the first star shined bright and white. We are 8 days away from spring.
